Problem Statement
Following the pandemic, the client had encouraged remote working for all of their employees to avoid the transmission of the novel virus inside the organization. This continued for more than a year and they were able to effectively streamline the remote working process.
As the world slowly recovered from the situation, and with all the employees being vaccinated, the client has decided to welcome all of their employees back to the office. Since there are still risks of being infected, they have decided to reconsider their present working environment. To ensure the safety and security of the employees and their families, the client required the following features:
An innovative attendance management system that would reduce the chances of physical contact
A solution that would administer social distancing in the office
A solution to regulate crowd control in the office and avoid any chance of virus transmission
In the event of an employee getting infected, to avoid mass transmission, they needed a system to trace all the employees the infected individual has been in contact with
A proper system to establish safety and hygiene protocols in the organization
Creating a Secure Office Space for Employees using dSense
Our IoT-based real-time resource locating and monitoring product, dSense, was integrated into the organization. The process and the working scenario are mentioned below.
Employees are given smart ID cards/ wearables that continuously emit BLE/UWB signals
Sensors placed at the entry points and at different points inside the office premise identify the signals and transfer the info to dSense cloud
The precise location and movement paths of the employees are updated in the cloud in real-time
The following data can be used by the admin team to establish various protocols including social distancing and more to promote employee safety
Our Solution
Using dSense, our smart RTLS solution, the client was able to enhance the safety and security of their office.
The smart ID cards given to the employees prompted a zero-contact attendance system in the organization. The strategically placed sensors at the entry points detect the signals from the ID cards and automatically register the employees’ attendance.
The smart wearables given to the employees give instant alerts if they come in close proximity to an employee, prompting effective social distancing in the workspace.
Heatmaps track the employee density in various locations inside the office and generate alerts to avoid overcrowding in the office
dSense has helped the client to establish a system to deploy contact tracing functionality to avoid mass transmission inside the office. By activating real-time alerts using dSense, the client successfully enforced safety and hygiene protocols inside the organization.
